Boeing has notified its contractor Spirit AeroSystems of the suspension of operations on 4 and the postponement of production on 16 more 737 MAX aircraft. This is due to changes in short-term delivery schedules for the 737 MAX due to the impact of the pandemic. Spirit said it will send some employees on 21 days of unpaid leave from June 15 and expects further production cuts on the 737 MAX in 2020. A total of 125 aircraft of this type were planned for production this year.
