The European Commission will formally charge Amazon with the monopoly next week or in late June. The problem lies in the conflict of interest of Amazon, which simultaneously acts as a seller and operator of the platform. According to Brussels, the company gets an unfair advantage by collecting and analyzing data from other sellers to compete with them. Amazon may face a fine of up to 10% of annual revenue.
