The European Commission has entered into agreements with Roche and Merck KGaA to provide experimental drugs for the treatment of COVID-19. The agreements concern Roche's arthritis drug RoActemra and Merck's multiple sclerosis drug Rebif . They are considered as potential drugs to treat COVID-19, but their effectiveness has not yet been proven, research is ongoing. The conditions under which the companies will secure supplies to any of the 27 EU member states are not known.
