Google has agreed not to use the user health data collected from Fitbit devices to avoid an EU antitrust investigation into Fitbit's $2.1 billion planned purchase. The company said the deal involves devices rather than data and the information received from Fitbit devices will not be used for advertising purposes. The European Commission should decide in the near future whether to approve the deal, demand other concessions or still launch a four-month investigation.
