Tesla intends to temporarily suspend the plant in Fremont, California, at the end of this month to complete the installation of a new conveyor line, industry online portal Electrek reported citing sources. The process of increasing production capacity at the plant has already begun. The new conveyor line is expected to be used when assembling Model Y crossovers with electric motors. How soon the plant will open is not specified.
