Uber will suspend operations in the state of California from August 20, due to a court order that requires couriers and drivers to be employees of the company, not its contractors. The company will also appeal that decision. If not satisfied, Uber has a chance that voters on November 3 will vote in favor of Constitutional Amendment 22, which proposes that all drivers and couriers be considered contractors.
