Sberbank has launched a service through which customers can remotely open a letter of credit with an escrow account payment in the application "Sberbank Online" when buying a house in a new building. To use the service, the developer must inform the bank of the objects, settlements on which are made under this scheme. Previously, Sberbank conducted a completely remote transaction on registration of escrow account as the developer and shareholder. However, the letter of credit was not opened on escrow, but on the settlement account of the developer.
