Ford Motor must pay a $1.7 billion fine for a fatal accident that occurred in Georgia in 2014. That was the conclusion reached by a jury in Gwinnett County court. The panel agreed with the plaintiff's argument that the driver and passenger of a 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck were killed because the roof was too flimsy and deformed after the vehicle rolled over. Ford knew about the roof problems, but failed to notify customers.
