Glencore is buying 18.75% of the MARA project from Newmont for $124.9 million. Glencore will also pay up to $50 million more after production starts. After the deal is completed, Glencore's share in the project will be 43.75%. MARA has proven and probable reserves of 5.4 million tons of copper and 7.4 million ounces of gold contained in 1.105 billion tons of ore with an initial production life of 28 years.
