RusHydro plans to complete the design and cost estimation of the Nizhne-Zeyskaya and Selemdzhinskaya HPPs by 2025 and move on to finding sources of financing. In the fall of 2023, Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Snikkars noted that the launch of the price zone in the Far East would create conditions for financing the construction of new HPPs. However, RusHydro will need to spin off power grid assets, as the law prohibits combining generation and transmission activities.
