Japan still buys about 60% of LNG from Sakhalin-2

Operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, Sakhalin Energy LLC, still sells about 60% of its liquefied natural gas production to Japan, according to the company's materials. In addition, shipments to South Korea remain, and shipments to China account for about 25% of the company's portfolio. LNG production at Sakhalin-2 in 2023 amounted to about 10 million tons, down 13% year-on-year.
