Investigation estimated the environmental damage caused by the structures of the Yuzhuralzoloto company in the Chelyabinsk region at ₽6 billion. Law enforcement agencies suspect Sergey Shchelokov, director of GOK Svetlinsky, of violating environmental protection rules (Article 246 of the Criminal Code) and damaging land (Article 254 of the Criminal Code), and Dmitry Bendik, head of the gold extraction plant, of violating environmental protection rules.
