Rusal launches arbitration against Germany

Rusal launched arbitration proceedings against Germany in 2026 over allegedly expropriated funds, a Vedomosti source familiar with the case said. The dispute involves Rusal unit RTI and former VTB European subsidiary OWH SE, which was placed under external administration by German authorities. The case was also confirmed by a representative of Germany’s economy and energy ministry in an April 16 letter to lawmaker Jörg Cezanne.
