Alrosa expects that as a result of cost-cutting measures, diamond production in 2020 will be reduced to 28-31 million carats compared to the original plan of about 34 million carats. In addition, in an effort to better balance the supply of rough with demand, Alrosa is suspending production of technical diamonds below -3 and polished grades for six months, as well as postponing trading sessions in July and August.
