Woodside Petroleum wants to buy British Cairn Energy's stake in the Senegalese oil project Sangomar, for which Lukoil is claiming. The Russian company has already entered into an agreement to acquire these assets for $400 million, but Woodside, which is already a participant in the project, had the right to make a similar offer and the company exercised this right. Lukoil refused to comment on Woodside's decision.
