Nielsen Holdings sells its Marketing Research division to Global Connect, operating under the NielsenIQ brand,a private equity firm of Advent International, for $2.7 billion. Following the transaction, Nielsen retains the Global Media media measurement business. The proceeds of the sale will be used to reduce the holding's debt burden. As of the end of June, the volume of the company's debt was $8 billion with the maturity in 2020-2023.
