Potomac Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy, has received approval to build two energy storage projects in Maryland. The first project will consist of a battery complex with a total capacity of 1.75 MW. to provide back-up power to homes. The second 500-kW project is designed to store and power Potomac Edison charging stations for electric vehicles. Both projects are expected to be completed in 2022.
