Avient acquires Dyneema's protective materials business from Royal DSM for $1.485 billion. Dyneema owns ultra-lightweight fiber technology that is 15 times stronger than steel and is used in complex products such as body armor, renewable energy, industrial protective solutions, etc. The deal is scheduled to close in late 2022.
