Merck will invest about €440 million to expand membrane production at its Carrigtwohill plant and build a new production facility in Blarney Business Park, Ireland. The expansion at the plant includes €290 million for the construction of an immersion membrane casting facility for gene therapy and virus sterilization. A new €150 million specialty filter facility will be built in Blarney.
