Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the transfer of the Sakhalin-2 project to a Russian company to be created by the government. Gazprom will automatically receive 50% plus 1 share in the new company. The project's foreign shareholders - Shell, Mitsui and Mitsubishi - will be able to apply to the Russian government within a month of the company's creation to transfer their stakes. Otherwise, the shares will be sold and the money will be deposited into their C-type accounts.
