Hungary has signed a contract with Gazprom to supply up to 5.8 million additional cubic meters of gas per day starting September 1, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó. According to him, in August the supplies to the country were at 2.6 million cubic meters of gas daily. Thus, since the beginning of September Hungary will receive approximately twice as much gas from Russia under the new agreement.
