X5 Group closed its last Karusel hypermarket, 19 years after the chain was founded. X5 Group's team made the decision to close the hypermarket format two years ago based on changes in consumer behavior and global retail experience. Over time, consumers began to prefer the assortment, prices and convenience of convenience stores, discounters and online channels, while retaining a love for urban supermarkets and the company decided to develop these formats.
