Gold miner Polyus passed the verification of the results of the first stage of the climate project at the Olympiada and Blagodatnoye deposits. Company partially replaced coal- and oil-fueled generation with less carbon-intensive grid power supply and registered 2.16 million carbon units in the Russian Contour registry. In 2028, the second phase will result in another 2 million carbon units. Implementation of the project will allow the company to become one of the top three leaders in the Russian carbon market.
