Gazprom Neft created a polymer to enhance oil recovery

Gazprom Neft successfully tested a fluid based on domestic polyacrylamide for hydraulic fracturing. New component became the industry's first high-quality alternative to foreign materials. Compared to guar gum, the synthetic polymer is more effective when working with low-permeability formations. Compared to guar gum, the synthetic polymer is more effective in low-permeability reservoirs. The new component creates a predictable fracture system and increases fracture length, which increases reservoir coverage and oil flow.
