Gazprom Neft has discovered a deposit with geological reserves of 55 million tons of oil in the Arctic zone of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. This is the largest discovery for Yamal in the last 30 years. Field is named after Alexey Kontorovich, one of the founders of the Russian scientific school of oil and gas geology and organic geochemistry.
