Lukoil has started construction of an MTBE production facility

Lukoil Oil Company has started construction of a plant for the production of MTBE, a high-octane component of motor gasoline, at the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery. Its use significantly increases the detonation resistance of motor fuels, improves the power, economic, and environmental performance of engines, and reduces the content of incomplete combustion products in the exhaust. Plant has a capacity of 200,000 tons of MTBE per year.
