Mechel Companies Join SPIMEX Commodity Exchange

Key metallurgical and coal mining subsidiaries of Mechel have received accreditation to trade on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX). The announcement was made by Mechel Chief Executive Officer Igor Khafizov. Accredited companies include the Chelyabinsk and Beloretsk Metallurgical Plants, Izhstal, Urals Stampings Plant, as well as the Southern Kuzbass and Yakutugol coal companies. Mechel expects the exchange platform to serve as an additional sales channel, broaden its customer base, provide direct access to its products, and offer standardized transaction and delivery terms.
