Spirit AeroSystems has received notification from its major Boeing customer that it has suspended operations on 4 and deferred production on 16 more 737 MAX aircraft due to changes in short-term delivery schedules for the 737 MAX. The company will send some of its employees on 21 days of unpaid leave starting June 15 and expects further production cuts on the 737 MAX in 2020. A total of 125 aircraft of this type were planned to be produced this year.
