Huntington Bancshares and TCF Financial will merge into a single holding company that will operate under the Huntington brand. The company will have an approximate capitalization of $22 billion. After the transaction closes, Huntington President Stephen D. Steinour will remain chairman, president and chief executive officer of the company, as well as chief executive officer and president of the bank. Gary Torgow, chairman of TCF Financial, will serve as chairman of the bank's board of directors. The merger is expected to close in Q2 2021.
