Cal-Maine Foods is buying 50 percent of Red River Valley Egg Farms from Rose Acre Farms for $48.5 million. The egg complex has 1.7 million laying hens, a feed mill and a processing plant. Cal-Maine Foods already owns the remaining 50 percent of the farm. The deal is scheduled to close by the end of the month.
