Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law amending state regulation of alcohol circulation. Now the term champagne is allowed to be used only for Russian products, while imported goods fall under the category of "sparkling wine". Foreign producers will have to re-certify their products and rebrand or leave the market. According to analysts, this may lead to a 20-30% reduction in the number of foreign brands on the Russian market and an increase in the share of Abrau-Durso, which already has more than 30% of the market.
