Government Commission for Radio Frequencies in August will extend the permission for the use of 700 MHz, 800 MHz and 2.5-2.7 GHz frequencies for the fourth generation cellular networks for another 10 years. But mobile operators will have to meet a number of requirements: starting from 2023 they will have to build LTE networks only with domestic equipment, by 2028 the companies will have to cover 99% of settlements with population of 500-999 people with LTE, and by 2030 they will have to cover 99% of cities with LTE. LTE will cover 99% of public roads. Operators' costs could amount to ₽15-35 billion.
