Mining companies have agreed with the government on the volume and format of the tax burden increase starting from 2022. The MET for iron ore production will be 4.8%, while for apatite-nepheline, apatite and phosphate ores it will be doubled. There will also be an increase in tax on mining of coal, non-ferrous metal ores and an excise tax on liquid steel at the rate of 2.7% of the export price. The total amount of withdrawals from the sector would be about ₽150 billion a year. It was decided not to increase the profit tax, which would depend on investment activity and dividends, until 2023.
