GlaxoSmithKline has rejected an offer to sell its consumer healthcare division to Unilever for £50bn. GSK has already received three bids from Unilever, the latest offering was for £41.7bn in cash and £8.3bn in shares. Now Unilever is in talks with banks for additional funding for another offer to buy the consumer healthcare business of GlaxoSmithKline, sources told Bloomberg. Earlier the publication stated that this business could be valued at £54 billion.
