Decision to ban trading in foreign stocks for unqualified investors has not been made yet, but the Bank of Russia is already in effect. In a recent letter to brokers, it recommended removing the possibility for unqualified investors to buy foreign shares from applications. It is allowed to sell stocks and close short positions. Restrictions do not apply to securities of companies that conduct economic activities in Russia, such as RusAgro or Ozon.
