Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law raising the MET for Alrosa by ₽19 billion in February-March 2023. Only 54% of this amount will go to Yakutia's budget. Remaining 46% will go to the federal budget. Previously, the entire mineral extraction tax on natural diamonds was credited to the regional budget. Changes will make up for shortfall in income, in particular, due to non-payment of dividends to Alrosa, Sergei Romanov, director of the Finance Ministry's department, explained earlier.
