Polar Lithium, a joint venture between Nornickel and Rosatom, has received a license to develop the Kolmozerskoye deposit, which contains 19% of Russia's total lithium reserves. Located in the Murmansk region, the deposit's development project calls for the production of 45,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate and hydroxide. These minerals are used, among other things, in the production of batteries, an industry that is rapidly developing both in Russia and abroad.
