A gas-air mixture explosion occurred at the methanol regeneration shop during welding operations at the Severo-Russkoye field, killing two workers and injuring one. North Russkoye field is located in the Tazovsky District of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area and is produced by Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegaz. Annual projected production amounts to 5.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 700 thousand tons of gas condensate.
