MMK is actively engaged in substitution of foreign-made steel, which Kamaz can no longer import. Last year the company mastered three new grades of steel, and now it is mastering another one. MMK supplies the automaker with longitudinal member steel and metal for making truck cabs. Last year, 628.8 thousand tons of steel products were shipped to the automotive industry, including 100 thousand tons to KAMAZ. Plant's share in the supply of sheet metal for the automaker is about 57%.
