Lukoil and Italy's Eni are seeking to expand their joint presence in the Republic of Congo. Companies have applied for and passed the selection round for offshore blocks Marine XXIV and Marine XXXI. They are now continuing discussions with the Congolese government on the final commercial terms for developing the blocks. Lukoil's share in the new project may reach 43%. Experts note that these blocks belong to the deep and sub-deepwater shelf and their development may be more complex than Marine XII, which is preparing to be launched at the end of the year.
