Head of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson asked the government not to take into account positive exchange rate differences in the taxable base of companies that will pay profit tax at a rate of up to 34% starting from 2023. Yamal LNG is one of those companies. Head of Novatek also asked for a deferral of payment of ₽40 billion in additional income tax for 2022, which was formed due to the Ministry of Finance's changed approach to accounting for exchange rate differences.
