Lukoil has asked the Russian authorities to allow it to buy back up to 25% of its shares from foreign investors at a discount of at least 50%, said the sources of Interfax. Lukoil's authorized capital consists of 692,865,762 shares. Thus, the company can buy back up to 173 million shares. Market price of such a stake is almost ₽1.1 trillion. However, Lukoil's buyout costs will depend on the exact size of the discount and the exact price from which it will be calculated.
