MMC Nornickel started ore extraction in the Glubokaya mine of the Skalisty mine at a depth of 1,943 meters. According to the company, this is a record depth for the Eurasian mining industry. On its balance sheet, the mine has about 280 million tons of ore of various types. By 2030, the company plans to increase production of rich ore at the mine by 45% - from 2.5 million tons per year to 3.4 million tons.
