Japanese oil company Inpex has received permission to sell 40% stake in Iraq's Eridu field, which is expected to be bought by Lukoil. If the deal is successfully completed, Lukoil, which already controls 60% of the Eridu project, will gain full control of the field. Eridu is the largest oil field discovered in Iraq in the last 20 years. Explored oil reserves at the Eridu field range from 7 to 10 billion barrels.
