Alrosa started developing a new diamond deposit. Stripping operations - removal of rocks covering the minerals - started at the Mayskaya kimberlite pipe in Yakutia. First precious minerals from the diamond site are planned to be obtained in 4 years. Exploration costs will amount to about ₽5.6 billion. Thanks to the commissioning of a unique diamond area, the company will reach production of 35-36 million carats.
