USA imposed sanctions against Polar Lithium LLC, a joint venture of Nornickel and Rosatom to develop the Kolmozersky lithium deposit. Deposit is the largest in Russia and the most promising for development. Development of the Kolmozerskoye deposit is expected to produce 45,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate and hydroxide, which are used, among other things, in the production of rechargeable batteries.
