Government has extended an experimental legal regime allowing driverless trucks to drive on public roads until November 12, 2028. Authorities also expanded the geography of the experiment to three regions — Bashkiria, Sverdlovsk Region and Perm Krai. In addition, starting in 2026, cars with a tester in the passenger seat (he is currently sitting in the driver's seat) and fully automatic cars with remote routing will be allowed on public roads.
