The District Court of The Hague issued an award in favour of Chevron in its dispute with the Republic of Ecuador, upholding the 2018 arbitration award. The Court found that the $9.5 billion Ecuadorian judgment against Chevron was obtained through fraud and corruption on the part of the plaintiffs' legal team, including bribery of the presiding judge and the writing of the sentence.
