Lukoil Company closed the deal on purchase of 49.99% of shares in the offshore project Al-Farabi from Kazakhstan's KazMunaiGaz. The area of more than 6,000 square kilometers is located in the Caspian Sea and is adjacent to the Jenis field. According to Lukoil's preliminary estimates, C1 category recoverable resources are 15.1 million tons. The water area of the block is ice-free all the year round.
