Government has approved criteria for potential buyers of Shell's share in the Sakhalin-2 LNG project. Apart from Gazprom, the controlling shareholder of the project, only Novatek complies with the requirements. However, the document does not exclude participation of foreign companies in the project. Earlier, the head of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson said that the company is interested in taking part in Sakhalin-2, but only after it has been audited by the state.
